With melee combat, the player is put in a position where they put themselves at greater risk but gain the added satisfaction of beating the odds. The technical skill required, as well as the number of times the player can spam some of their abilities, vary between games that excel at this. They range from subtle and tense to bombastic and over-the-top, but both are entertaining.

That said, Paint Town Red is a chaotic first-person melee combat game set in various locations and time periods, in which the voxel-based enemies can be punched, bashed, kicked, stabbed, and sliced completely dynamically with almost anything that isn't nailed down.

In epic bar fights, disco brawls, old west saloon rumbles, college frat house beat-downs, and much more, you'll need to use your wits, speed, and anything else you can get your hands on.
